What changed for 2026 โ new rate card Jan 15, +3.5% fuel surcharge Apr 17, peak uplift Oct 15 โ plus every Amazon US FBA fee in force today (referral, fulfillment, storage, aged surcharges, inbound placement, return fees) as a dated, sourced table, free to download as a machine-readable JSON dataset under CC BY 4.0. Cite it, reuse it, recompute every number.
Quick answer — 2026 Amazon US FBA fees in one paragraph: referral commission is 15% for most categories (17% clothing, 8% on the first $100 of electronics; minimum $1.00, or $0.30 on media/low-price items). Fulfillment runs $3.45 (small standard) to $6.97 for 3–20 lb (+$0.08/lb above 3 lb), extra-large tiers start at $26.33. Monthly storage is $0.78/cu ft Jan–Sep and $2.40/cu ft Oct–Dec (+208%), and the aged-inventory surcharge starts on day 181 at $0.50–$7.90/cu ft. On top of every fulfillment fee sits a 3.5% fuel surcharge (since April 17, 2026), plus holiday peak uplifts of +$0.20 to +$0.54 per unit from Oct 15, 2026 to Jan 14, 2027.
All of it is published here as a dated, sourced, CC BY 4.0 JSON dataset (US + EU, monthly snapshots, changelog) — rate card effective 2026-01-15, last verified 2026-09-20. Cite it or recompute every number, then run the free FBA fee calculator.
Fee data on the web is either locked behind paid SaaS dashboards or scattered across blog posts with no date, no source and no way to check it. This dataset is the opposite: one JSON file with version number, effective dates, the Seller Central source link, and a worked example you can recompute by hand. If any number is wrong, the error is checkable โ that is the point.

Base rate card effective January 15, 2026. The 3.5% fuel & logistics surcharge (effective April 17, 2026) applies to the fulfillment fee only โ not to referral or storage fees.
From 15 October 2026 a peak-season uplift is added to the fulfillment fee of every unit that ships inside the window; it reverts on 15 January 2027. Peak is decided by the ship date โ not the order date and not the inbound date. Amazon's headline figure of about $0.32 per unit is a network-wide blended average, not any single SKU, so read the per-tier column. Watch the composition order: the 3.5% surcharge is charged on the uplift as well, so it is (base + extra-weight overage + peak uplift) ร 1.035 โ never (base ร 1.035) + peak uplift.
| Size tier | Max weight | 2026 base fee | Surcharge | Peak uplift 2026-10-15 โ 2027-01-14 | All-in during peak (base + uplift) ร 1.035 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small Standard (<6 oz) | โค 0.375 lb | $3.45 | ร 1.035 fuel | +$0.20 | $3.78 |
| Large Standard (6 ozโ1 lb) | โค 1 lb | $4.60 | ร 1.035 fuel | +$0.29 | $5.06 |
| Large Standard (1โ2 lb) | โค 2 lb | $5.82 | ร 1.035 fuel | +$0.33 | $6.37 |
| Large Standard (2โ3 lb) | โค 3 lb | $6.67 | ร 1.035 fuel | +$0.41 | $7.33 |
| Large Standard (3โ20 lb) | โค 20 lb | $6.97 + $0.08/lb over 3 lb | ร 1.035 fuel | +$0.54 | $7.77 |
| Extra-Large (0โ50 lb) | โค 50 lb | $26.33 | ร 1.035 fuel | +$2.73 | $30.08 |
| Extra-Large (50โ70 lb) | โค 70 lb | $37.32 | ร 1.035 fuel | +$2.81 | $41.53 |

| Small Oversize (โค50 lb) | 50+ lb | $7.55 + $0.38/lb over 1 lb | ร 1.035 fuel | +$1.04 | $8.89 |
| Large Oversize (estimate) | 50+ lb | $9.35 + $0.38/lb over 1 lb | ร 1.035 fuel | +$1.04 | $10.75 |
Worked example โ Large Standard (6 ozโ1 lb): $4.60 ร 1.035 = $4.76 per unit off-peak. The same unit shipping inside the peak window is (4.60 + 0.29) ร 1.035 = $5.06, i.e. $0.30 more per unit. A $25.99 Home & Kitchen product also pays 15% referral = $3.90 + $0.35 partial inbound placement.

Monthly storage per cubic foot โ peak season (OctโDec) is the number that kills Q4 margins:
| Size | JanโSep | OctโDec (peak) | Storage jump |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard size | $0.78 | $2.40 | +208% |
| Oversize | $0.56 | $1.40 | +150% |
Aged inventory surcharge (per cu ft, on top of base storage, effective 2026-01-16). All eight bands below are taken from Amazon's published US aged inventory surcharge schedule. The steepest increase is at day 271, where the rate jumps from $1.50 to $5.45 (+263%). Bands 181-270 do not apply to apparel, footwear, bags, jewelry or watches; the two oldest bands are charged per cubic foot or per unit, whichever is greater:
| Days in fulfillment center | Surcharge |
|---|---|
| 181-210 days | $0.50/cu ft |
| 211-240 days | $1.00/cu ft |
| 241-270 days | $1.50/cu ft |
| 271-300 days | $5.45/cu ft |
| 301-330 days | $5.70/cu ft |
| 331-365 days | $5.90/cu ft |
| 366-455 days | $6.90/cu ft — or $0.30/unit, whichever is greater |
| 456+ days | $7.90/cu ft — or $0.35/unit, whichever is greater |
Two Q4 windows, not one. Storage peaks 1 Oct โ 31 Dec while fulfilment peaks 15 Oct โ 14 Jan; the two overlap for only about two and a half months. Model them separately or a Q4 estimate will not reconcile to Amazon's Fee Preview report.
Return processing fees (per returned unit above category return-rate threshold):
One more 2026 rule that is easy to miss: the FBA fulfilment fee is not refunded when a unit comes back (dataset field return_policy.fba_fee_reimbursed = false). The referral fee is credited back, minus a refund administration fee of 20% capped at $5.00. If your model already charges fulfilment on every shipped unit, the incremental return cost is that admin fee plus the processing fee above.
| Size tier | Fee per returned unit |
|---|---|
| Small Standard (<6 oz) | $1.90 |
| Large Standard (6 ozโ1 lb) | $3.39 |
| Large Standard (1โ2 lb) | $4.63 |
| Large Standard (2โ3 lb) | $4.73 |
| Large Standard (3โ20 lb) | $5.00 |
| Small Oversize (โค50 lb) | $5.00 |
| Large Oversize (estimate) | $5.00 |
The 2026 story is opposite directions: Amazon cut EU fulfillment fees (UK โยฃ0.26, DE โโฌ0.32 per typical unit) and slashed low-price apparel referral fees (โคโฌ15: 8%โ5%, โฌ15โ20: 15%โ10%), while the US added the 3.5% fuel surcharge on top of an already higher fulfillment base. Cross-border sellers repricing for Q4 should recompute EU and US margins separately โ the Pan-EU calculator and the US calculator both run on this same dataset family.

Data is transcribed from Amazon Seller Central's public US FBA rate card (announcement of January 15, 2026) and cross-checked against our live calculators. The JSON file records the source SHA-256 fingerprint of the generating rate card so any future edit is auditable. When Amazon announces changes (typically January and October), the dataset version is bumped and this page's tables are regenerated from the JSON โ tables and JSON can never drift apart.
