Q4 2026 Amazon Seller Checklist: Inventory, PPC & Listing Prep Now
Published August 8, 2026
Black Friday is roughly 16 weeks away, and in Amazon terms that means Q4 planning starts today. Sellers who wait until October to think about holiday inventory are already behind — Chinese suppliers need 4-8 weeks, sea freight takes 2-5 weeks, and FBA receiving slows to a crawl in November. This checklist gives you the exact August-December timeline so you stock, spend, and sell with confidence this Q4.
1. August: Order Inventory & Lock Supplier Capacity
- Forecast demand: baseline sales x 2.5-3x for Q4 spikes, per SKU.
- Place supplier orders now: target arrival by late September.
- Lock freight: book ocean space early; rates and capacity tighten in Q4.
- Prep compliance: review FBA prep standards before shipping — avoid receiving delays. See our FBA Prep Guide.
Run the numbers per SKU with the FBA Profit Calculator before you commit MOQs — Q4 storage fees triple, so over-ordering is expensive.
2. September: Ship to FBA & Fix Your Listings
- Ship in batches: first shipment by mid-September, second by early October.
- Listing audit: update titles, bullets, images, and A+ content for conversion.
- Check keywords: refresh backend keywords with seasonal terms ("christmas gift", "stocking stuffer").
- Review pricing: plan Q4 promotions (coupons, Lightning Deals, Prime Exclusive Discounts).
Listing quality is your cheapest Q4 traffic — see our Listing Optimization Guide for a conversion checklist.
3. October: PPC Budgets & Peak Receiving
- Ship final stock by mid-October — receiving windows compress sharply after that.
- Set Q4 ad budgets: CPCs rise 30-80% in November; budget accordingly.
- Launch seasonal campaigns: gift-related keywords, video ads, and brand campaigns.
- Negative-match waste: clean low-converting terms before CPC inflation multiplies their cost.
Plan bid ceilings and ACoS targets with the PPC Bid Optimization Guide and monitor with the PPC Analyzer.
4. November: Black Friday & Cyber Monday Execution
| Week | Focus |
| Nov 1-14 | Full inventory live, early deals live, ads at peak budget |
| Nov 15-21 | Prime Day 2 / BFCM preview deals, monitor stock daily |
| Nov 22-30 | BFCM peak: watch inventory, raise bids on winners, extend deals |
- Monitor daily: stockouts during BFCM = lost rank for months. Keep 2-3 weeks buffer.
- Reallocate ad spend: shift budget to top ACoS performers daily.
5. December: Wind-Down & January Reset
- Last-chance gift campaigns (Dec 1-20), then taper ad spend.
- Clear aged stock: avoid long-term storage fees hitting in January.
- Post-Q4 review: analyze ACoS, sell-through, and profit per SKU.
- Place Q1 restock orders before Chinese New Year factory shutdowns.
6. Tools for a Smooth Q4
Bottom line: The Q4 winners are decided in August and September — inventory ordered, listings polished, budgets planned. Start now and you will be selling while competitors are still waiting on containers.
